archive_Autonomatic 1 Symposium
This one day research symposium, on the use of digital technology in
designing and making three-dimensional forms, was held on Friday 28th
January 2005.
It was set within the context of a growing number of designers and makers who are extending their autonomous control over the process of designing and manufacturing products through the creation of digital information and the use of computer numerically controlled machinery.
Their often idiosyncratic and sometimes subversive use of technologies is resulting in the creation of new forms and processes that challenge our cultural understanding of the differences between hand and mass-manufactured objects.
